Step by Step Process to Obtain Your Wireless Stipend Cellular Service

Select your scenerio:

  1. NEW Cell Phone with a NEW Mobile Number
  2. NEW Mobile Number with the EXISTING Cell Phone
  3. EXISTING Mobile Number with the EXISTING Cell Phone
  4. EXISTING Mobile Number with a Cell Phone

1.    NEW Cell Phone with a NEW Mobile Number

    1. Discuss stipend option with supervisor.
    2. Complete the Wireless Stipend Policy Agreement and get appropriate signature.
    3. Go to the Service provider of choice and purchase a device and service plan (check for employee discounts).
    4. Provide contract documentation and complete the Payroll Department Wireless Stipend Approval Form.  Be sure to select the appropriate Tier(s) for voice and data as it applies to your business needs.
    5. Send Payroll Approval Form to Payroll. Payment will be pro-rated based on the actual date of the contract and subject to two-week hold back. 
    6. If you are disconnecting an existing UConn issued mobile number, please fill out the Disconnect Existing UConn Service Form.

2.   NEW Mobile Number with the EXISTING Cell Phone

    1. Discuss stipend option with supervisor.
    2. Complete the Wireless Stipend Policy Agreement and get appropriate signature.
    3. Go to the Service provider of choice and purchase your service plan (check for employee discounts).
    4. Provide contract documentation and complete the Payroll Department Wireless Stipend Approval Form.  Be sure to select the appropriate Tier(s) for voice and data as it applies to your business needs.
    5. Send Payroll Approval Form to Payroll. Payment will be pro-rated based on the actual date of the contract and subject to two-week hold back. 
    6. To disconnect the existing UConn mobile number, please fill out the Disconnect Existing UConn Service Form..
    7. Contact UITS Cellular Services to find out the cost of the UConn device.

3.   EXISTING Mobile Number with the EXISTING Cell Phone

    3. Complete the Transfer Existing UConn Service Form as UITS Cellular Services will work with you to transfer the mobile number over to your personal account.
    4. Provide contract documentation and complete the Payroll Department Wireless Stipend Approval Form.  Be sure to select the Tier(s) for voice and data as it applies to your business needs.
    5. Send Payroll Approval Form to Payroll. Payment will be pro-rated based on the actual date of the contract and subject to two-week hold back. 
    6. Contact UITS Cellular Services to find out the cost of the UConn device.
    7. Complete the Purchase Existing UConn Wireless Device Form.
