Step by Step Process to Obtain Your Cellular Wireless Stipend Service

Select your scenerio:

  1. NEW Cell Phone with a NEW Mobile Number
  2. NEW Cell Phone with EXISTING UConn Mobile Number

1.    NEW Cell Phone with a NEW Mobile Number

    1. Discuss stipend option with supervisor.
    2. Complete the Wireless Stipend Policy Agreement and get appropriate signature.
    3. Go to the Service provider of choice and purchase a device and service plan (check for employee discounts).
    4. Provide contract documentation and complete the Payroll Department Wireless Stipend Approval Form.  Be sure to select the appropriate Tier(s) for voice and data as it applies to your business needs.
    5. Send Payroll Approval Form to Payroll. Payment will be pro-rated based on the actual date of the contract and subject to two-week hold back.
    6. If you are disconnecting an existing UConn mobile number, please fill out the Disconnect Existing UConn Service Form.
    7. Return the UConn device to your supervisor.

2.    NEW Cell Phone with EXISTING UConn Mobile Number 

    1. Discuss stipend option with supervisor.
    2. Complete the Wireless Stipend Policy Agreement and get appropriate signature.
    3. Call the ITS Tech Support Center at 486-4357. They will create an IT ticket to inquire about transferring your UConn mobile number over to your personal account.  The ticket will be assigned to Voice Services who will work with you.
    4. Go to the Service provider of choice and purchase a device and service plan (check for employee discounts).
    5. Provide contract documentation and complete the Payroll Department Wireless Stipend Approval Form.  Be sure to select the Tier(s) for voice and data as it applies to your business needs.
    6. Send Payroll Approval Form to Payroll. Payment will be pro-rated based on the actual date of the contract and subject to two-week hold back.
    7. Return the UConn device to your supervisor.
