The University of Connecticut offers a wireless stipend program for eligible employees. This allows the individual to carry one cell phone for both business and personal use.

Stipends are paid bi-weekly to cover associated costs incurred by those employees in the program. The amount of the stipend will be based on voice and data (email) usage. The stipend is taxable income to the employee.
Cellular devices are purchased by the stipend participant.
It is strictly up to the department to determine if a cellular device is needed for an employee to accomplish their job duties and is not determined by the employee.
